All seemed well, but the pattern described above repeated every 15 minutes or so – except that after a couple more re-boots, the blackout time shortened, pre-empting my re-boots. I powered down the Mac, waited 15 secs, then re-started. Mac OS had moved open windows from the non-working monitor to the one that remained operational. The setup / configuration as above has been working fine and stable since including the LG monitor a year ago, replacing a Samsung.Ī week ago (1st June, fwiw), a few minutes after morning boot up, both monitors blacked out after 10-15 seconds, the Dell monitor (on the DVI interface) lit up again but the LG (on the mini display port) remained black. That might be the easiest fix (for me). I have noticed that occasionally the MBP screen will throw up some random lines about 2/3 of the way up the screen before the LG goes brown. Tried MBP keyboard, wired USB keyboard and Apple Bluetooth keyboard. Set either MBP and the LG as primary screen. Tried connecting LG with either Thunderbolt 3 or USB C cables. LG said they did not have this issue logged.Ħ. Reinstalled OS 10.15.2 in recovery modeĥ. Any ideas on why this happens and how to fix it? But before you offer suggestions, these are a few of the things that I have done.ġ. The AMD Radeon Pro 5500M graphics card has 8GB of memory. Such as changing resolution via display preferences or hitting escape from login and try again. A refresh of the display returns it to normal view. (My MBP screen is does not change.) I can use the LG screen but it looks horrible. Why does my external 23.7in LG 24MD4KL display go brownish on my MacBook Pro 16in when waking? Quite often, but not always, when my MBP wakes from sleep or leaves the screen saver, the LG screen is brownish and the resolution seems smoothed.
